We are committed to connecting the public with the natural world, while maintaining a low impact and protecting the wild populations of the creatures we love.

Nature Walk Curio is a family-owned, woman-founded business with a mission to help its patrons connect more with nature in a way that is sustainable and fosters an interest in conservation efforts.

We believe that conservation starts with the spark of curiosity and the pursuit of education. We as humans desire to protect what we love and we begin to love things as we learn more about them.

We accomplish this mission by offering naturalist curiosities that are sourced sustainably and whenever possible, humanely, and by offering biologist led classes and experiences to deepen each attendees personal ties to nature.

Sustainability

Our foremost mission as a sustainable company is to minimize our impact on the natural world. We accomplish this in many ways but foremost through the way we source our specimens. Each individual organism is selected from sources like conservatories, retired collections, and carefully regulated butterfly farms.

Humanity

In addition to offering specimens that are sustainably sourced, we strive to use specimens that come with a humane guarantee whenever possible. These specimens are typically less pristine than specimens sourced other ways, however, you can proudly display them in your home knowing nothing was harmed for the sake of an aesthetic. These specimens will always be clearly labeled in our collection.

Education

The best way to foster a love for something is through education. As we learn, we are able to bridge gaps of distance, fear, misinformation, and so much more. Then, when we are armed with informed appreciation, we are better prepared to encourage change for the better. Through our educational programs we hope to empower people to be their own change for good.
